1.
another try 03:02
who are you, and what's your name? it feels like i've met you before in crowded living rooms and broken-down basements feels like you're with everyone and no one at all my only meaningful relationship is hundreds of miles away and it is so very distant that it matters less and less every day but i can't move on pick up my coat i know what i did wrong go home maybe i can give it another try
2.
american jam 02:55
we can work it out let's just leave the house everything we think we know i tried to leave the room but you were anchored to the floor your heart's been buried beneath the floorboards
3.
maybe I could tell you a story but "would you even listen" is what i’d say and maybe we could take an evening stroll but you'd probably say no anyway it's whatever i'm not there so I left for my apartment and took the long way home just wanted to be alone did I fuck up? it doesn't matter now it’s a case of sincere misjudgment that led here and i won’t go back it really tore me up it really hurt my pride i'll go home keep to myself tonight it's too cold i guess i'll just stay inside
4.
i'm on the outside looking in you come and ask me where i've been but it's your need for stability that i cannot provide an honest letter these things i tell her october, make me a new man my friends, take me home road trips on sundays making jokes about our futures so just take a long drive to somewhere you can call home i'm not one to judge but you really shouldn’t rush life anymore than you already are
5.
slam day 02:11
i'll say whatever it is i have to i'm not going back to sleeping alone the night drives from yours to mine to pass the time i can't seem to make up my mind cigarette sunset i regret all of it
6.
there's no hand in mine dragging me to places i don't want to go people i don't want to know there's no consequence take me places i don't want to go people i don't want to know the truth is i want to lie down this is nothing i wanted to say it's something i'm trying to change

about

*** CASSETTE PREORDER ***
Limited edition cassettes featuring both versions of the EP are available exclusively from HEAD2WALL Records. Find a link to their webstore in the upper right column, below the "Follow" button.

Over the past eight years, Pittsburgh, PA-based quintet rchrd prkr – pronounced “Richard Parker,” itself a multi-sourced pop culture homage – have crafted a style all their own, combining the earnest affectations and linear songwriting of classic Midwestern emo with the hooky minimalism of mid-aughts indie rock.

Though firmly rooted in DIY ethos, their music is tempered by moments of post-punk vitriol and folky swells of lush, multipart vocal harmonies, all underpinned by confessional lyrics exploring themes of post-graduate uncertainty and growing pains, loneliness, anxiety and the fracturing and re-mending of complex personal relationships.

Two thousand twenty-two sees the enhanced reissue of rchrd prkr’s formative sophomore EP, "it’s getting worse" (2015), an intimate six-track record comprised of hopeful anthems and melancholy ballads, punctuated by moments of blistering punk vitality.

Updated and partially re-recorded to complement (in equal parts) the band’s expanded lineup and artistic growth, this definitive edition features fully reimagined drum tracks, fresh guitar leads and auxiliary flourishes – all while embracing and preserving the original issue’s measured compositions, heartfelt vocal performances and semi-polished charm.

This is the way these songs were intended to be heard.
